John Day Airbase

Picture
Home sweet home
  • A state of the art airport facility-constructed in 2009-allows us to work, train and fight fire together without all the clutter.
  • An in house weight room, saw shop and dedicated sewing room allow us to prepare for each fire season in comfort and style.
  • Operations are conducted with a birds-eye view of the John Day Helibase reducing the potential chaos of hosting yearly Type 1 helibases in support of large fires throughout northeastern Oregon.
  • On site locker room, showers and kitchen provide comfort for those long shifts.
